Are meal planning and menus an essential part of your culinary life? Well with the optional Mealplan plug-in, you can add these features to your copy of MacGourmet.

Mealplan has all sorts of things that make your meal planning a breeze: it adds a drag and drop weekly planner that makes it easy to organize meals for your entire week. With the weekly planner, making a shopping list for your week is just a button press away. Mealplan also adds a way to create menus for your meals too. Finally, print out a planner for your entire week, so that you can see "what's for dinner," at a glance.

Plan Your Meals
Mealplan gives you a Weekly Planner that lets you add meals and recipes by just dragging and dropping them from your MacGourmet recipe box. Planning is easy. You decide the order of things, and the meals and times that you want to make your plans for. When you're done, creating a shopping list for your week is just one click away. Not satisfied with the built-in meals? You can also add your own and set the default times for them. It's easy!

Print Your Week
Once you have your week organized in the Weekly Planner, you can then print out a schedule for your entire week. This lets you and your family see the entire week's meals at-a-glance, so instead of always hearing, "What's for dinner?" that question can be answered instead with a quick check of your planner hanging on the 'fridge door.

Create Your Shopping List
Once you have the recipes you want to prepare added to your planner, making a shopping list for the market is a breeze. With a simple command, you can create a shopping list that includes all of the items needed for the week. Just print that out and take it with you: your shopping just got easier.

Make Menus
Meal planning isn't all you can do with the data you've added to your Mealplan though: you can also create and print simple menus for meals that you put together. Planning a dinnner party? Having a meal for a special occasion? Make a menu for it! Like most things in MacGourmet, you can choose from a variety of styles, and add more later.

Send your planner to iCal
Not happy to just view your menus in the Mealplan weekly planner? Well you can also send your meal plans to iCal with a simple command, and see them presented there. It's another great way to see your recipes and when you want to prepare things.
